Protection For Collectibles, no matter what you collect or the reason for it, is very important to preserve you collectible and ensure you maintain its value. If I had protected every sports card, wacky sticker, lunch box, comic book, matchbox toy I'd ever collected as a kid, I would definitely be a richer man today. Learning as soon as possible those things that other collectors deem valuable about your collectible, will allow you to take steps to protect your items now.
For example, many paper based items like comic books, should be kept in acid free comic bags. To further protect the books from bends, creases and such, you need acid free boards. Acid-free is protection that contains no acid residue in it's matrix to chemically react or degrade what you are protecting. These protectors often are more expensive than other types, but are well worth what it can cost you in the long run. If you forego the extra expense, you may find your collectible yellowed, degraded to dust, corroded, and other such damage. Depending on the collectible, damage can be slow to occur, but even the slightest damage can make it worthless to a serious collector looking for value. Look further into this site for more information on how to protect your collectibles. Protection and care will be the primary focus until all collectibles listed thus far are covered to the best of our ability. As our researchers find information or seasoned collectors their experience, knowledge, and advice to Collector's Resource the main topic pages will be updated. |
No matter if you are a beginner or are a seasoned expert in your field, Collector's Resource is gathering every scrap of information it can to provide you one place on the internet you can always turn to to better enjoy or understand your hobby. At this time many collectibles are in need of additional submissions or research, however most have resources on the Magazines, Shopping, Organizations, and Links pages.
We will be completing those collectibles not presently showing a "Coming Soon" page first, then completing the build out of those collectibles in the "Select your collectible" drop down menu. Visitor inquiries will direct our attention to a particular collectible and result in it's being addressed or added first. The Doll, Barbie, and Flag Collector pages resulted from just such an inquiry. Share information about your club, organization, or upcoming event with this site's visitors, or have your articles and shared resources published here for your fellow collectors to enjoy. Send your submissions to Click on the Chat link at top at any time to chat with other collectors. Post your classifieds on line at Collector's Resource using the Classifieds link as well. Once again welcome and I hope you enjoy the Collectors Resource. |
